Psalm 58:1
How do we respond when justice is delayed for too long? Absalom watched his sister Tamar suffer and waited—waited for his father David to act, to speak, to bring justice. But silence filled the space where truth should have stood. Eventually, Absalom acted—not with wisdom, but with vengeance. His response was violent, but his grief was real. This story forces us to ask: What happens when justice is put off, and pain festers in the shadows? In a world where outrage feels easier than waiting, God calls us to a different way. He is never blind to injustice, even when His timing feels slow. Our challenge is to stay soft-hearted while we wait, to resist the lure of retaliation, and to trust that God still reigns. When anger burns, we need His peace. When silence aches, we need His voice. He is the Judge who never forgets, and He calls us to walk with both strength and mercy.
