Psalm 34:18
How do you respond when those you help turn their backs on you? David risked his life to save the people of Keilah, only to learn they’d betray him to Saul. His reward for courage was rejection. Still, David didn’t lash out or give up—he turned to God. In the wilderness of Ziph, surrounded by danger and betrayal, David discovered that strength isn’t found in revenge or recognition, but in quiet trust. His leadership was shaped not by applause, but by faith in God’s timing. We all face moments when our efforts seem unappreciated or even betrayed. Like David, we’re invited to trust that God sees, hears, and responds—even in silence. Delayed answers don’t mean abandonment. Sometimes, God is using the wilderness to shape us into who we’re meant to be. In choosing faith over frustration, we allow God to write the ending, and His endings always lead to life.
