Psalm 28:7
What happens when we settle for less than God’s best? As Israel entered the Promised Land, they were meant to drive out all the enemy nations. But instead, they compromised. Convenience won out over courage. The result? They fell into cycles of defeat, losing the freedom God had promised. Still, God didn’t abandon them. He raised up Othniel—a man who trusted God and led with faith, not fear. Compromise still sneaks into our lives today. We settle for easy answers, momentary peace, or our own strength instead of surrendering completely to God. But like Othniel, we’re called to trust in the Lord as our strength and shield. Real peace and freedom don’t come from doing what’s easy—they come from full devotion to the One who never fails. Let’s choose obedience over convenience, trusting in God’s power to help us stand firm.
