Proverbs 4:23
What good is strength if our hearts are unguarded? Samson had power that astonished everyone, including himself. Killing a lion with his bare hands was just the beginning. But the same hands that tore beasts apart couldn’t hold back his own reckless desires. His strength was unmatched—but his discipline was nonexistent. It’s easy to focus on what we can do for God, yet ignore who we’re becoming in Him. Like Samson, we’re tempted by what pleases our eyes and stirs our cravings. But Proverbs 4:23 reminds us—everything flows from the heart. Do you guard yours? Ask God to help you recognize where your affections pull you away from Him. Because real power isn’t about what we conquer outwardly—it’s about the purity we protect within.
