Philippians 2:3
Have you ever felt threatened by someone else’s success? Saul began with God’s anointing, yet when the people praised David’s victories, envy took hold. Instead of celebrating God’s work through David, Saul saw him as a rival and responded with fear, suspicion, and violence. What started as insecurity became a toxic obsession. Envy twists our view of others and ourselves. It convinces us that God’s blessing is scarce, that someone else’s rise means our fall. But Scripture teaches us to value others above ourselves, to rejoice with those who rejoice. When we trust that God’s goodness is abundant and personal, we can let go of comparison and embrace peace. Ask God to root out envy and replace it with gratitude. There is more than enough grace, purpose, and love in His kingdom—for you and for them.
