Daniel 2:21
Can peace truly thrive without hard choices? Solomon may have inherited the crown, but peace was not part of the package. In 1 Kings 2, he faces lingering threats from within—old allies of David who no longer serve God’s plan. With discernment, Solomon removes those who would sabotage the future. His actions may seem harsh, but they reflect a necessary truth: peace often requires pruning. In our own lives, we sometimes avoid tough decisions out of fear of conflict. But wisdom means knowing what—or who—needs to be let go so God’s purpose can flourish. Are there influences in your life holding back the peace God wants to grow? Ask Him for courage to act, and for wisdom like Solomon’s—to build something lasting, even when the process is uncomfortable.
