Hebrews 13:5
Have you ever justified a wrong choice because it seemed to promise a better outcome? In Judges 18, the Danites’ journey reveals how easily we can shift from seeking God to seizing control. Instead of relying on His provision, they stole idols, hired a counterfeit priest, and destroyed a peaceful town to secure land. Their ambition seemed successful—but it came at the cost of their spiritual integrity. How often do we act like the Danites, compromising our convictions for comfort or quick results? God calls us to trust Him—not just when the path is clear, but especially when it’s not. When we believe His promises, we don’t need shortcuts. Let’s guard our hearts from the idols of success, control, and self-reliance, and choose instead the lasting peace that comes from walking in God’s will.
