Psalm 141:3
What will you leave behind when your time is up? As David's life draws to a close, he doesn't simply offer Solomon a throne—he gives him a mission. In 1 Kings 2, David urges his son to “be strong, act like a man, and observe what the Lord your God requires.” He knows leadership demands more than titles; it demands obedience, courage, and moral clarity. David's final words are honest. He speaks of unresolved betrayals and unfinished justice, showing us that even God's anointed may not see everything completed in their lifetime. Yet his transparency models a powerful truth: we can pass on both wisdom and weakness to the next generation. Our task is to prepare others to go further than we could. What legacy—of faith, forgiveness, or courage—are you preparing to leave behind?
