Exodus 20:3
What do you turn to when God seems distant? The Israelites, anxious and impatient for Moses’ return, crafted a golden calf, seeking comfort in something they could see and control. Their impatience led them away from God, revealing how easy it is to place our trust in the wrong things. We may not worship statues, but we often rely on success, approval, or possessions to feel secure. These modern-day idols distract us from trusting God’s perfect timing. When we recognize what we’ve placed above Him, we can surrender those things and refocus our hearts on Him. God alone is our provider, our security, and our peace. Let us learn to trust Him fully, knowing He is always present, even when we cannot see Him.
