Exodus 15:11
Have you ever underestimated God’s power? The Philistines thought capturing the Ark meant conquering Israel’s God, but they quickly learned Yahweh is not a trophy. Statues fell, people suffered, and fear spread. God didn’t need an army. His holiness alone brought nations to their knees. This story reminds us that God defends His name and that His presence cannot be owned, boxed, or diminished. Sometimes, we, too, reduce God to something manageable. We treat His presence casually, assume His patience means permission, or try to fit Him into our own plans. But God is not tame—He’s holy. That’s both terrifying and beautiful. His holiness humbles us, but it also heals us. It brings conviction and comfort because the One who topples idols also restores hearts. Let’s approach Him today not with arrogance but with awe.
