Proverbs 10:9
What happens when we trust without asking God first? Joshua’s story in Joshua 9 reminds us how even the best leaders can be fooled when they rely on appearances instead of divine direction. The Gibeonites, fearing destruction, disguised themselves and tricked Joshua into making a treaty. He failed to seek God’s counsel, and that mistake had lasting consequences. In our lives, decisions often come fast—and so do the pressures. But Scripture teaches us that integrity and wisdom come from walking closely with God. Whether it’s a job offer, a new relationship, or a major move, the first step should always be prayer. When we skip that, we risk being misled by what looks good on the surface. Let’s slow down, seek God first, and trust that His guidance protects us from deception.
