Joshua 1:9
Whose side is God on—ours or theirs? Before the battle for Jericho, Joshua encounters a warrior with a drawn sword. When asked whose side he’s on, the figure replies, “Neither… but as commander of the Lord’s army I have now come” (Joshua 5:14). It’s a powerful moment: God isn’t here to take sides—He’s here to take charge. Too often, we ask God to bless our plans without asking if we’re aligned with His. Like Joshua, we need to recognize that success doesn’t come from having God on our side but from surrendering to His leadership. That starts by standing on holy ground—humble, obedient, and ready. In moments of fear or uncertainty, courage comes not from control but from confidence in the One who commands the battle. Let’s trade our striving for surrender and follow wherever God leads.
